Your own character's description goes in the GRAY column.
In this blue column are NOTES about how to fill out each profile field for your character.
You do not have to play a superhero or supervillain! To apply as a NORMAL (non-super) character, the form is the same; just put "None (Normal)" for some fields as shown below.
SAMPLE ONLY
In this red column are SAMPLE profile entries for Superman (©DC Comics) , a well-known hero used to illustrate each part of the application. (Please remember, we do NOT allow non-original characters!) Notice there is a fair amount of detail here! We could have put much more, but we do not want to overwhelm you on the application. But more is usually better! Granted Superman is not the best-balanced character (his "kryptonite" weakness is on the lame side), but he is the best-known superhero ever.

Super Vulnerabilities
* If your character has superpowers or supergear of any kind, he *must* have super vulnerabilities.
What unusual weaknesses (due to being a superhero) does your character suffer?
The following are not valid Super Weaknesses (because they bring no gameplay balance to superpowers):
My character can die
My character gets fatigued when/after using his powers
My character must concentrate use his powers
My character is vulnerable to things that any normal human is vulnerable to.
For a Normal, put "None (Normal)."

Personal Strengths
Here are assets & advantages & abilities such as education, training, wealth ... not related to any superpowers.
SAMPLE ONLY

* Personal Flaws
What makes your character psychology or emotionally less than perfect?
SAMPLE ONLY
Superman sometimes has to overact his bumbling Clark Kent identity. He can get on people's nerves by being so clumsy and weak. Also, because he devotes himself without compromise to pursuing justice and defending humanity, he is often forced to disappear from his Clark Kent life at critical moments when Superman is needed elsewhere.
* Attitude / Mentality
What is your character's general outlok on life, ethics, society, and personal relationships?
SAMPLE ONLY
Superman believes in "truth, justice, and the American way." He is an upstanding paladin of virtue, cleanliness of body & soul & mind, and law & order, although when necessary he applies his own vigilante justice when it serves the community at large and the concept of Good Over Evil. Superman is a protector of innocents and a defender of the meek.
* Origin & History
What happened in your character's formative years? How did he gain his superpowers (if any)?
SAMPLE ONLY
Superman is a survivor of the planet Krypton, which exploded. His father, Jor-El, discovered that a nuclear chain reaction was building inside Krypton that would soon shatter the entire world. Jor-El put his infant son Kal-El into an escape-rocket and launched it toward Earth just before Krypton exploded. On Earth, Jonathan and Martha Kent found the infant inside the vessel and brought him to their farm in Smallville, Kansas. Since he appeared entirely human, the Kents assumed that the baby was a victim of a cruel experiment. At this time the baby had no super-powers. The Kents named the infant Clark and raised him as their own son. As Clark grew older, his Kryptonian body began developing superhuman abilities. When Clark was eighteen, Jonathan took him to the field where his starcraft still lay hidden and explained how he and Martha had found him. Clark resolved to use his powers from then on only for the good of mankind. After revealing his secret to his childhood friend, Lana Lang, Clark left Smallville to study at Metropolis University. He and his foster parents devised the new costumed secret identity he would adopt when using his abilities in public. They called his new persona "Superman," the name given him by Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Planet. Shortly afterward, Clark obtained a job as a reporter for the Daily Planet by turning in the first detailed story about Superman. He currently enjoys a freelance status with the Planet.

Among the many mischievous people who have harrased Earth & Superman repeatedly are:
Lex Luthor -- The (usually) bald-headed Luthor has been Superman's main foe for most of the superhero's existence and has unveiled countless plots to destroy him and take over the world. Originally Luthor was a mad scientist but has since been rewritten as a Machiavellian industrialist and white-collar criminal.
Bizarro -- An imperfect duplicate of Superman, Bizarro was created by an imperfect duplicator ray; he originally was a failed experiment of Lex Luthor's.
Mr. Mxyzptlk -- A being from the fifth dimension with magical powers who delights in tormenting Superman and traditionally could only be made to return to his native dimension by being made to say or spell his own name backwards.
Brainiac -- An alien scientist from the planet Colu, intent on conquring Earth; Brainiac was an android, but at one time he was a circus mentalist named Milton Fine who was possessed by a Coluian intelligence. Fine's body was destroyed and Brainiac once more inhabited a robotic body.
Writing Sample
* Writing Sample
This demonstrates your ability to write a roleplaying scene, including descriptions of your surroundings, the actions of your character, your responses to your environment and other characters and events in the area, and more. Have fun! This is a writing game!
The scenario in question is up to you; be it a high-powered battle of the city, witty banter with your arch-nemesis, interrogation of a henchman, or even just a day at the office. The sample will be judged on creativity, grammar, and coherency. It must be readable, it must be interesting, and although your English skills need not be university level, it would help if we could understand what you're trying to say. So have fun with it--after all, that's what this is all about.
If you're unsure how to write this sample or what to write, take a look around the game for examples of the narrative expected. Please write in 3rd person, past tense (e.g., "He flew over the bank," not "I fly over the bank.").

[IN THIS SAMPLE, LOIS LANE IS AN NPC CONTROLLED BY JOE (SUPERMAN'S PLAYER), AND PERRY WHITE IS A PC RUN BY ANOTHER PLAYER, SO NOTICE THAT JOE POSTS FOR LOIS BUT DOES NOT POST PERRY'S ACTIONS.]
It had been a quiet week. Metropolis was at peace. Clark was sitting at his desk at the Daily Planet playing with the rack of silver balls that click against each other in patterns. He had found that low shots of his heat-vision could cause interesting special effects on the balls.
Suddenly Lois Lane burst into his office in a panic. "Clark! There's an alien spaceship hovering over City Hall! And Lex Luthor is inside it! He's made some kind of alliance with the aliens! It's the story of the century! I'll get Jimmy Olsen--you tell Perry we need the helicopter--we can't wait for traffic! Then meet us on the roof! Move, Clark! ... What are you doing with those stupid stilver balls?"
Clark was glad his infrared heat vision was not visible to Lois! His cover had almost been blown! "Gosh, Lois, okay! I'll be right there!"
As Lois ran off, Clark pushed his intercom button. "Um, Mister White? Lois Lane says we need the helicopter for a story about aliens! Is that okay with you, sir?" Not waiting for Perry's answer--after all, Lois would take the copter no matter what Perry said; and she wouldn't wait for Clark, either!--Clark stepped to his office window. With a glance over his shoulder to make sure no one was watching, he stepped out of the window. Although he was on a high floor, far above the city streets, he didn't fall. Instead he flew sideways, out of sight, and dropped into an alley nearby, where he stripped off his business clothes to reveal his Superman costume beneath. "I don't have time to alert the Justice League first," he said. "Knowing Lex Luthor, he'll make some kind of demonstration of his new powers, just to get everyone's attention. I have to stop him now!"
Without another second's delay, the Man Of Steel leaped into the air and shot away towards City Hall.
